The Air Force is committed to reviewing and reducing additional duties where they can, said CMSAF James Cody at ASC16. “A lot of effort is being focused right now” on two areas that impact every airman: ancillary training and computer-based training, he told a group of reporters on Wednesday. The Air Force plans to eliminate and redistribute some of those duties wherever they can, he said, and he is “optimistic that the review of the ancillary training and CBT will produce a greater net affect on the majority of airmen.”
An independent federal study will assess whether military aviators are at higher risk of cancer than the general public under a new law enacted this week. President Donald Trump signed the bipartisan Aviator Cancer Examination Study Act into law Aug. 14.
