The Air Force is committed to reviewing and reducing additional duties where they can, said CMSAF James Cody at ASC16. “A lot of effort is being focused right now” on two areas that impact every airman: ancillary training and computer-based training, he told a group of reporters on Wednesday. The Air Force plans to eliminate and redistribute some of those duties wherever they can, he said, and he is “optimistic that the review of the ancillary training and CBT will produce a greater net affect on the majority of airmen.”
Boeing received a $2.47 billion Air Force contract Nov. 25 for 15 more KC-46s, bringing to 183 the number of Pegasus tankers on contract to all customers, foreign and domestic. The new contract—for Lot 12 of the initially planned KC-46 buy—is to be completed by 2029.
