Eight F-16s and more than 200 airmen from the Colorado Air National Guard recently deployed to Hungary for training and support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The airmen from the 140th Wing at Buckley AFB are conducting training and familiarization events with the Hungarian air force at Papa AB, according to an Air National Guard release. The aircraft will also conduct training with Hungarian and Slovenian joint terminal attack controllers, the release states.
Boeing’s receipt of the 10th lot contract award for the KC-46 Pegasus this week leaves just three lots left to complete the Air Force’s buy of the tanker, although a further buy of 75 additional aircraft as a “bridge” to the Next-Generation Aerial-refueling System (NGAS) seems increasingly likely.
