Women in Military Service for America Memorial has created a special exhibit displaying more than 100 photos that show US soldiers and Marines in action from the Civil War to the present day, according to a May 28 American Forces Press Service release. “The American Soldier: A Photographic Tribute to Soldiers and Marines” opened on Memorial Day and runs through Labor Day at the Women’s Memorial in Arlington, Va., and is free. In the wake of a major Chinese military shakeup, the head of U.S. Space Command warned of China’s “breathtakingly fast” advances in space during visits to Japan and South Korea. Gen. Stephen N. Whiting’s trip to the Indo-Pacific is his first overseas visit since taking command of SPACECOM in January.
