Five USAF teams have received Chief of Staff Team Excellence Awards, while six teams earned Best Practice Certificates. The teams, according to USAF officials, used “a systematic approach to enhance mission capability, improve operational performance, and create sustained results.” The team projects ranged from improvements to technical training for ICBM operators to finding and testing a commercial electrical wiring analyzer to more quickly detect the root cause of more than 30 percent of F-15 aircraft discrepancies.
U.S. Air Force F-15C Eagles have roared out of Barnes Air National Guard Base, Mass., for the last time. The 104th Fighter Wing’s last three F-15Cs departed the base Oct. 23 for the “Boneyard” at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., ending the aircraft's era on the frontlines of homeland defense.
