Operation Dynamic Weasel is the name USAF has given to a tactics and techniques training exercise set to take place at Shaw AFB, S.C., on Dec. 2. The activity will feature F-16CJ and B-1B aircraft, integrated with air operations and support centers and airborne command and control in a combat-like scenario. Maj. Anthony Roberson, with Shaw’s 20th Fighter Wing, says a late 2006 Dynamic Weasel will include Army and Navy participants.
The Air Force wants to pump more than $12 billion over the next five years into its new affordable long-range missiles program and recently asked industry to push the flights of some of those munitions beyond 1,200 miles.
