Pacific Air Forces has received the Maj. Gen. Benjamin D. Foulois Memorial Award presented by the Order of Daedalians for an exception 2005 flight safety program. PACAF not only flew without aircrew fatalities or destroyed aircraft but also reached the DOD goal of a 50-percent reduction in major aviation mishaps for two years in a row.
The Air Force plans to add external weapons pylons on the B-1B bomber, both to increase the number of aircraft that can test hypersonic missiles and expand the Lancer’s loadout as USAF transitions to the B-21 bomber.
