Some of the airmen involved in Operation Sun Run 50 years ago gathered at the National Museum of the US Air Force in Dayton, Ohio, last week to commemorate the event. On Nov. 27, 1957, six pilots flew RF-101C from Los Angeles, setting three new transcontinental speed records. One of the participating aircraft, the one named Cin Min for the pilot’s two daughters, is on display at the museum. (Report by Sarah Parke.)
