Air Force officials say they have reached a major milestone with the recent signing of a record of decision for Dover AFB, Del., marking the last step toward the base’s efforts to remediate the 59 contaminated sites that put it on the Environmental Protection Agency’s superfund national priorities list. Acceptance of the ROD means that the EPA approves of the remediation plan. An EPA official called the Dover effort a “model for every federal facility.”
A legislative standoff has led to a lapse in a $4.26 billion small business innovation contracting program widely used by the Air Force and could spell the end of it entirely, industry sources warned Air & Space Forces Magazine.
