As part of the Air Force’s commemoration of its 60th anniversary, Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne launched a special 60th anniversary artwork exhibit at the Pentagon last week. Several Air Force Art Program artists attended the small ribbon-cutting event. Among them was renowned aviation artist Keith Ferris, who said that the artists in the program “have a real responsibility to do a painting that is going to last for 200 years or more.” The special exhibit is located in the Air Force-maintained section of the Pentagon.
An important U.S. Air Force E-3 Sentry AWACS command and control plane was among the aircraft damaged in a March 27 Iranian missile and drone attack on Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, people familiar with the matter told Air & Space Forces Magazine.
