According to the Pew Research Center, a new poll shows Americans think the situation in Iraq is less dire. The center credits the death of key al Qaeda figure Abu Musab al Zarqawi and President Bush’s surprise visit to Baghdad for the turnaround. The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
