CAP Teen Earns Spaatz Award: Cadet Col. Katrina Lichtford, a 16-year-old member of the Civil Air Patrol, received the highest CAP honor from Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Michael Moseley last week during a ceremony at the Pentagon. The Gen. Carl A. Spaatz Award was presented to Lichtford for more than three and a half years of CAP service and for demonstrating excellence in leadership, character, fitness, and aerospace education. CAP officials say that only two out of every 1,000 cadets ever receive the award, which is named after the first Chief of Staff of the Air Force.
