Various news reports note that India on Sunday test-fired a long-range, nuclear-capable missile, but it also went into the drink shortly after takeoff, like North Korea’s Taepo Dong II. This launch has brought little international alarm, however, the timing probably could have been better. (Reportedly India notified Pakistan before the test.)
The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
