The New Jersey Air National Guard’s 177th Fighter Wing has just opened a new $13 million alert facility, reports the Asbury Park Press. The facility includes three aircraft shelters to keep the wing’s F-16s readily available, but out of the weather, for the unit’s air defense mission.
Aircraft readiness will suffer if Congress does not approve some $1.5 billion worth of spare parts the Air Force requested in its annual Unfunded Priorities List, sent to Capitol Hill last week, Chief of Staff Gen. David W. Allvin said.
