The Air Force has awarded Bronze Stars to seven airmen at Charleston AFB, S.C. Five went to combat camera members: Capt. John Clagnaz, MSgt. Christopher Nolan, TSgt. Jeremy Lock, SSgt. James Harper, and SSgt. Richard Rose. Two went to security forces airmen: SMSgt. Lex Gibson and TSgt. Jeffrey Wagner.
In a dramatic flare-up in the hostilities between the U.S. and Iran, American forces struck and destroyed five Iranian oil tankers Sept. 8, U.S. Central Command said. Iran retaliated by lobbing ballistic missiles toward a major U.S. base in Jordan.
