Air Force Space Command notes that the March 8 Atlas V launch of six experimental satellites was the 50th consecutive successful launch for the Air Force space program. AFSPC’s Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles AFB, Calif., joined with the 45th Space Wing, Patrick AFB, Fla., and industry and other government entities to facilitate the spacecraft integration and launch with its series of firsts.
The Space Force’s small size has limited its capacity to consider what role it will play in future operations on and around the moon. That needs to change, according to Vice Chief of Operations Gen. Shawn Bratton.
