Air Force fighters were called on again to perform precision air strikes in Iraq, according to US Central Air Forces. F-16s launched precision guided munitions, striking a building used by anti-Iraqi forces in the vicinity of Karabilah. While, F-15s struck buildings in Balad used by anti-Iraqi forces with PGMs.
The Air Force is spending heavily on F-22 improvements through the end of the decade, suggesting it may not retire the jet in 2030 as it previously planned. New sensors, fuel tanks, communications, and electronic warfare systems are among the upgrades that comprise the package.
