President George Bush spent the July 4 holiday at Ft. Bragg, N.C., where he thanked the soldiers of Bragg’s 82nd Airborne Division and airmen of next-door’s Pope Air Force Base, as well as their families, for their efforts during the war on terror. In his remarks, Bush noted the link between the soldiers and airmen, saying that it is the “men and women of Pope Air Force Base who put the ‘air’ in Airborne.”
The Trump administration has tapped three officers for three-star roles in the Air Force and Space Force, including a new director of operations on the Space Staff and a retired officer to return to active duty and lead Air University, the Pentagon announced Aug. 3.
