Air Force Reserve Command’s 301st Fighter Wing in Fort Worth enlisted the aid of the Lewisville, Tex., SWAT team to help the wing’s Security Forces train to fight in an urban environment. The wing wanted realistic training—it got it in a weekend’s worth of activities that included nighttime firefights, attacks, and rescue operations. Joining the 301st SF airmen were members of the wing’s medical and civil engineering units. “We couldn’t have asked for better support from Lewisville,” remarked TSgt. Ron Zumwalt, 301st SF Squadron event team coordinator.
The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
