CMSgt. William Turner is moving on to a new assignment as the command senior enlisted leader of US Transportation Command at Scott AFB, Ill., announced the Pentagon on Monday. Since December 2010, Turner has been Air Force Special Operations Command’s command chief at Hurlburt Field, Fla. He will replace CMSgt. Martin Klukas, who has been with TRANSCOM since November 2011.
The Pentagon agency charged with building and operating U.S. spy satellites recently declassified some details about a Cold War-era surveillance program called Jumpseat—a revelation it says sheds light on the importance of satellite imaging technology and how it has advanced in the decades since.
