Disbrow Appointed Acting Undersecretary

President Obama appointed Lisa Disbrow to serve as the Air Force’s acting undersecretary. She fills the leadership void created when Eric Fanning left the undersecretary position earlier this year to be chief of staff for Defense Secretary Ash Carter. Disbrow’s appointment came on March 30 and took effect immediately, according to the Air Force’s release. “I’m excited to continue the great work that Undersecretary Fanning started in this position,” said Disbrow, who has been the service’s assistant secretary for financial management since July 2014. Serving airmen “alongside great leaders” like Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James and Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh is “an honor,” she added. James characterized Disbrow as “a tremendous asset” and someone “perfectly suited” to be the acting undersecretary. “Her experience within our financial management division, combined with her expertise on the Joint Staff and her time as an Active Duty airman, provides a broad range of capability that is instrumental in how we continue to move forward,” said James. Disbrow will continue her financial management duties during her time as acting undersecretary, state the release.
