Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh released his professional reading list on Feb. 6. It includes nine books chosen by Welsh and three selected by CMSAF James Cody, as well as seven films, seven TED talks, web-based resources, artwork, and photography, according to a Feb. 6 release. “This year’s CSAF Reading List was designed to build understanding,” Welsh said in his message to airmen. “There are stories of airmen, fellow service members, and leaders from many different backgrounds.” The list is available here.
The Air Force’s recruiting momentum is showing no signs of slowing in 2026, and leaders are already thinking about how they might get after even bigger goals in 2027 and beyond.
