SMSgt. Patrick McEneany, senior non-commissioned officer with the 18th Medical Group at Kadena AB, Japan, has received the Bronze Star medal for meritorious service during a deployment to Iraq earlier this year. As a member of a joint task force, he managed the unit’s medical budget, organized the collection of expired and obsolete medical supplies, and coordinated medical supplies for the treatment of personnel at his location and at various forward operating bases. “This award highlights a truly remarkable medical team composed of active duty, Guardsmen and Reservists from the Air Force, Army, and Navy [who] provided the absolute best medical care possible under some of the most demanding circumstances imaginable,” said McEneany during his Nov. 24 award ceremony.
