New York City played host to the first Salute Our Heroes Veterans Job Fair and Career Expo, bringing some 7,000 military veterans together with 87 private sector, government, and union employers. Hosting the event was the New York Times, NYC Education Department, ESPN, General Motors, Home Depot, MacTools, Hire Disability Solutions, and Hire Vets First. Sponsors hope to make the fair an annual event and expect the idea to catch fire across the nation.
