The first non-combat support unit to undergo Marine Corps jungle warfare training comprised 30 members of the 18th Communications Squadron from Kadena AB, Japan. The weeklong session, held in July at Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, offered land navigation and other training, topped off with an endurance course the last day.
The House of Representatives voted Nov. 12 to end the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, setting the stage for tens of thousands of defense civilians to return to work and guaranteeing troops will be paid in a few days’ time.
