Eight medics from five US Air Forces in Europe bases are working in Liberia to train some of the country’s scarce medical personnel, as part of an initiative by President Ellen Sirleaf-Johnson to re-energize security forces within the fledgling democracy.
The United States Air Force is flying less than historic norms and funding for acquisition and readiness is on a path to further hollow out this too small and old force to that is incapable of sustaining an enduring combat air campaign.
