According to Stars and Stripes, the Air Force has not granted Maj. Jill Metzger, who claims she was kidnapped during a deployment to Kyrgyzstan, an 18-month leave of absence. An Associated Press report last month said the service was going to let the major take time away from her work at Moody AFB, Ga., to recover from her ordeal. The Air Force Office of Special Investigations continues its investigation into the strange case.
								Lt. Gen. Jason T. Hinds took charge of NATO Allied Air Command and U.S. Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa on Oct. 31, one day after being confirmed for the post by the Senate.
