CSAR-X Sites to Undergo Environmental Review: The Air Force plans to start the environmental impact analysis process for 10 prospective locations to beddown Air Force Special Operations Command’s replacement for the HH-60 combat search and rescue helicopter. On Thursday, the Air Force announced that it was considering locating the CSAR-X aircraft at facilities in Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, and at one overseas facility. The Air Force will finish restructuring the Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile program by the end of this year, achieve its first test launch of the ICBM by 2027, and reach initial operational capability by the early 2030s.
