The Pentagon plans to name a new outside review panel to survey military space management and operations, reports Andy Pasztor of the Wall Street Journal. A DOD spokesman told Pasztor that there is a timeline for the review, but the department is still considering appropriate appointees. The last overarching review was the 2001 Commission to Assess US National Security Space Management and Organization headed by Donald Rumsfeld before he stepped down to become Defense Secretary.
The Space Force should take bold, decisive steps—and soon—to develop the capabilities and architecture needed to support more flexible, dynamic operations in orbit and counter Chinese aggression and technological progress, according to a new report from AFA’s Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies.
