A California high-tech company said Tuesday that it had fielded its high-fidelity Night Vision Goggle simulation system at Luke AFB, Ariz. Silicon Graphics, Inc. developed the NVG system and integrated it into existing F-16 flight simulators. The technology enables Viper pilots to train as they fly during night missions—improving safety and training effectiveness.
NORAD surged two F-35s, two F-16s, and a trio of KC-135s to Pituffik Space Force Base in Greenland earlier this month for a “dynamic operational exercise,” testing its ability to rapidly deploy forces in the Arctic.
