A group of 10 airmen from the 19th Air Refueling Group at Robins AFB, Ga., won first place at the 2006 Tanker Association Winter Games, which recently wrapped up at Grand Forks AFB, N.D. The first-ever competition of its kind featured teams from MacDill AFB, Fla.; McConnell AFB, Kan.; Fairchild AFB, Wash., and Grand Forks. Events included Crud (a game played on a billiards table), floor hockey, a 1.5 mile run, dodge ball, rock wall climbing, and human dog sledding. The occasion, say Air Force officials, gave tanker crews a chance to compare notes.
A recent injection of $475 million has reversed delayed delivery timelines for the Pentagon’s hypersonic missile interceptor by several years, Air Force Lt. Gen. Heath Collins, director of the Missile Defense Agency, told congressional leaders in an April 15 hearing.
