Airmen of the 723rd Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron—also known by their Army pseudonym of 1058th Gun Truck Company—recently passed the four-million-mile mark shepherding convoys across Iraq for the past two years. During that time, two of the unit’s gunners—SSgt. Dustin Peters and A1C Carl Anderson—were killed in action. The gun truck airmen now are transitioning the mission back to the Army.
The Air Force has finished modifying and testing the new VC-25B Bridge aircraft that will serve as a temporary Air Force One, the service announced May 1. All that’s left now is to finish painting the jet before it starts flying this summer.
