A 1973 Air Force Academy grad, Lt. Gen. John Regni has taken charge of the academy from which he graduated in 1973, becoming only the second superintendent in the 50 year-history of the school to not wear wings. His career encompasses stints in personnel and training, including command of Air University. Regni replaces Lt. Gen. John Rosa, who is retiring to take the top job at The Citadel in South Carolina.
An important U.S. Air Force E-3 Sentry AWACS command and control plane was among the aircraft damaged in a March 27 Iranian missile and drone attack on Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, people familiar with the matter told Air & Space Forces Magazine.
