Three HH-53 Jolly Green Giant helicopters of the 55th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron airlift 911 bodies from a mass suicide in Jonestown to Georgetown, Guyana. HC- 130s refuel the helicopters as they shuttle between the sites. At Georgetown the bodies are transferred to C-141 Starlifter aircraft for transport to the United States.
The Air Force is on track to reach its annual goal of graduating 1,500 new pilots that had proved elusive to this point, one year after the service launched a sweeping overhaul of its undergraduate pilot training program, Air Education and Training Command said Sept. 14.
