The first solo nonstop transatlantic flight is completed by Charles A. Lindbergh in the Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis: New York to Paris in 33 hours, 32 minutes. Lindbergh’s achievements will be recognized by the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross, and by special act of Congress, the Medal of Honor.
