An F-15E crashed in Southwest Asia on May 3 during a routine training mission, announced Air Forces Central officials. “Both crew members ejected safely,” states AFCENT’s release. First responders went to the scene. AFCENT said it would release more details as they become available. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
The Air Force is spending heavily on F-22 improvements through the end of the decade, suggesting it may not retire the jet in 2030 as it previously planned. New sensors, fuel tanks, communications, and electronic warfare systems are among the upgrades that comprise the package.
