US Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa boss Gen. Frank Gorenc was nominated Oct. 29 for induction into the Order of the Sword—the highest honor awarded by the enlisted force. “Airmen trust his leadership and appreciate his transparency,” said USAFE-AFAFRICA command chief CMSgt. James Davis in a Nov. 2 release. “He is a commander in which the enlisted forces wants to be led by. He absolutely believes we are the world’s great Air Force simply because of our enlisted force. There is no one more passionate about the development of our enlisted men and women.” Gorenc, who will be the command’s 20th inductee, called the nomination “one of the most prestigious honors in my career.”
