Fisher House Comes to PACAF

Officials at JB Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, inaugurated the Fisher House of Alaska to house, free of charge, families of service personnel undergoing treatment at the base hospital. “We are thrilled to have a Fisher House on JBER and we are extremely grateful for the incredible generosity and graciousness of the Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher Foundation,” said Col. Robert Evans, 673rd Air Base Wing commander. “Their overwhelming support to military communities, over many years, has made an enormous difference in the lives of so many of our families during the most difficult times,” he added. The modern, 12-room facility, which opened late last month, is the first of the charitable family housing centers within Pacific Air Forces’ area of responsibility. Located directly across from the base hospital, Fisher House is open to all active and reserve component families of any branch, including military retirees undergoing treatment.
