Lt. Gen. William Etter, commander of the Continental US NORAD Region and 1st Air Force (Air Forces Northern), selected CMSgt. Ronald Anderson to be the organizations’ command chief. “The opportunity to serve the men and women of CONR-1st Air Force is incredibly humbling,” said Anderson. “I am honored and looking forward not only to the opportunity to work at the numbered air force level, but more importantly to remain engaged in the defense of the homeland,” he added. Anderson comes to his new assignment at Tyndall AFB, Fla., from JB Andrews, Md., where he was command chief of the 113th Wing, a District of Columbia Air National Guard unit. An airman since 1987, Anderson has a background in vehicle and aircraft maintenance and recruiting, according to Tyndall’s April 11 release. In his new role, Anderson will be the senior enlisted advisor to Etter, who’s been in his post since March. “Given the outstanding caliber of applicants, this selection proved to be a challenging decision,” said Etter. “But in the end, Chief Anderson is the right person and I very much look forward to working with this exemplary chief.” (Tyndall report by Mary McHale)
