The Air Force will purchase a C-37A executive transport for $26.8 million that it previously leased from Gulfstream Aerospace. The aircraft is based on the Gulfstream V business jet. The Air Force operates a fleet of 10 C-37As that augments the service’s larger Boeing 757-based C-32s for shuttling senior military and government officials. The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
