Malmstrom AFB, Mont., Patrick AFB, Fla., and Peterson AFB, Colo., were the top winners at Air Force Space Command’s Guardian Challenge 2006. Malmstrom’s 341st Space Wing received the Blanchard Trophy for Best Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Space Wing. The 45th SW from Patrick took home the Schriever Trophy for Best Space Launch Wing. Boeing and its subsidiary Millennium Space Systems are rolling out a new mid-class satellite bus they say will provide commercial and defense customers flexibility at a time when the Pentagon is pushing for more production and speed.
