The National Museum of the US Air Force has put the C-141 known as the “Hanoi Taxi” on public display in the museum’s outdoor airpark. The Air Force Reserve Command’s 445th Airlift Wing, the last to fly the famed aircraft, turned it over to the museum in May.
Air Force depots are not typically meant for quick repair jobs, but during Operation Epic Fury, the service moved some of its stateside heavy maintenance capability forward to fix battle-damaged aircraft closer to the fight.
