The 22nd Space Operations Squadron’s detachment based at RAF Oakhanger, Britain, recently acquired a new 43-foot Antedo antenna, replacing a legacy antenna at the site. The new antenna is a key part of the Air Force Satellite Control Network and went through two separate segment verification tests as well as integrated system tests prior to passing the required 99 percent sortie success rate.
The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
