Lebanon’s military needed ammunition quickly, so USAF tapped one of its C-17s in the Southwest Asia Theater to perform a short-notice delivery. The C-17 crew loaded up 180 pallets of munitions at a SWA base and flew into Beirut to deliver the supplies. The 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron flew a total of 10 sorties over a three-day period to ferry more supplies to Lebanon to support its counterterrorism operations, reports Capt. Teresa Sullivan.
While the Space Force is still making long-term plans to establish high-fidelity live and virtual test and training ranges in the coming years, officials say they're also working with operators to identify near-term gaps and quickly field capabilities to address them.
