The Air Force confirmed Wednesday that its inspector general has cleared Air Force Academy Commandant of Cadets Brig. Gen. Johnny Weida from a charge that he had attempted to proselytize non-Christian cadets at the academy, according to an Associated Press report. Weida’s name had been pulled from a promotion list. The Air Force now says it supports his promotion to major general. Weida was one of a new bunch of officers the Air Force installed at the academy to clean house after a sexual assault scandal.
