Guam Military Master Plan outlining some $15 billion in infrastructure improvements for the next 15 years is being “fine-tuned” for delivery to US Pacific Command in July, was the word Marine Corps Gen. Peter Pace got when he visited the US territory last week. Pace visited both Andersen Air Force Base and Naval Base Guam to see how preparations are going to support the arrival of some 8,000 Marines and 9,000 family members over the next eight years, as well as endeavors to expand the island’s operational status, such as USAF’s plans to use Andersen as a permanent station for Global Hawk UAVs.
Facing competition from fast-growing startups, Lockheed Martin is speeding up production of an “affordable, scalable” hypersonic glide body, dubbed the Next Generation Glide Body, the firm said in a June 24 release.
