The new Democratic-controlled Senate has set among its top legislative tasks for 2007 relieving the strain on the US military and repairing crumbling military infrastructure, says Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-N.M.) The Democrats plan to introduce legislation titled “Rebuilding America’s Military Act of 2007″ (S. 8).
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
