The Warner Robins Air Logistics Center at Robins AFB, Ga., will be taking on depot maintenance support for the Air Force’s other prime unmanned aerial vehicles—MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper—in addition to its work on the RQ-4 Global Hawk UAV, reports the Macon Telegraph. Air Force Materiel Command has decided to assign the work to Robins, which could boost the ALC’s workforce, according to Gene Rector of the Telegraph. Warner Robins also supports the high flying U-2 reconnaissance aircraft.
The Air Force is launching an effort to develop a new stand-off missile with a range of 1,000 nautical miles, or 1,150 miles, that would eventually be used for both air-to-air and air-to-surface missions.
