Capt. Charles B. DeBellevue (WSO), flying with Capt. John A. Madden Jr. (pilot), in an F- 4D, shoots down two MiG-19s near Hanoi. These were his fifth and sixth victories, making him the leading American ace of the war. All of DeBellevue’s victories came in a four-month period.
Brig. Gen. Clarence E. “Bud” Anderson, the last surviving triple ace from World War II, was honored one last time by the nation's top Airmen when he was buried here with full military honors March 30.
