The Air Force inactivates the 20th Fighter Squadron, the service’s last operational F-4 Phantom unit, at Holloman AFB, N.M., where it had trained German Luftwaffe crews for 33 years. (The Luftwaffe continues training at Holloman, employing Tornado aircraft.)
