Gen. William Fraser III, the Air Force vice chief of staff, presented the Bronze Star with Valor medal to A1C Antonio Antunez during a ceremony Jan. 26 at Nellis AFB, Nev. Antunez, who is with the 99th Security Forces Squadron at Nellis, received the medal for his actions during a six-month deployment to Iraq, where he saved the life of an interpreter at risk to his own. Fraser said of Antunez that he “epitomizes the Air Force Core Values; he is an inspiration to us all.” (Nellis report by SSgt. Aileen Carter)
Brig. Gen. Clarence E. “Bud” Anderson, the last surviving triple ace from World War II, was honored one last time by the nation's top Airmen when he was buried here with full military honors March 30.
